ABOUT ME

Aaron Michael Strait, 33 years old, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Milford, Ohio.  At age 2 ½ years, he was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disability and Oral Motor Apraxia.  The son of two artists, he early on loved to draw, especially Disney characters.  While at Milford High School, Aaron took classes in 3D design, drawing and painting. At age 15, he began to study with professional artist, Keith Klein at Mr. Klein’s studio in Florence, Kentucky.  He continues to receive instruction in painting techniques from Mr. Klein and from his mother, Dawn.

ARTISTS STYLE

When I am painting, I enjoy the repetition of brush strokes and patterns such as the lights in the windows & wheels on the trains. I love to use bright colors too.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• The Cincinnati Reds recognized me as an Autism All Star in 2011.

• Exhibiting my artwork since 2012 and raising money for programs that benefit persons with disabilities.

• My mom and I formed “Aaron’s Art for Autism” selling original paintings as well as notecards and holiday cards printed from our original works.

• Received the President’s Award from Milford High Schools Foundation for distinguished alumnus in 2017.
